Lochlea
Our seasonal small batch releases showcase the signature Lochlea style in four different ways each year. As a working farm, these expressions tie-in to reflect the farming calendar. In our ‘Fallow Edition’ (Second Crop), we’ve chosen a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks to create a beautifully rich, autumnal dram that has a very different flavour profile to ‘Fallow Edition’ (First Crop). The Oloroso butts give rich notes of manuka honey and golden syrup, whilst the introduction of the PX casks provides warming layers of sweetly spiced ginger candy and ground coffee beans. The third in a new set of four limited editions, ‘Fallow Edition’ (Second Crop) reflects the season of autumn on the farm, when the fields are left fallow to rest after a busy harvest.

Lochlea
The third of four annual seasonal releases that evoke the farming year - although 2024 is the final year of this range - Fallow sees the heavy influence of first-fill Oloroso Sherry casks. Whereas the First Crop used just Pedro Ximenez Sherry and the Second Crop used both PX and Oloroso casks, the use of solely Oloroso barrels produces a rich, intense colour and a profile of stewed prunes with a hint of coffee. It's got a real dark fruitcake feel and would be a perfect Christmas whisky!

Romain Le Bars
The award-winning Isle of Harris Gin is made in our home village of Tarbert, every drop distilled in a small copper gin still known as 'The Dottach', before being bottled and sealed by hand. Refreshing, with good balance between the bitter juniper and pine and the sweet fruit flavours of mango, grapefruit and orange. A green herb flavour of crushed coriander develops. Distinctive and smooth with a dry, flinty taste.

Upon sipping, flavour explodes in the mouth.Whirls of peppermint. Bursts of eucalyptus. Rustles of bitter orange. All floating on clouds of vanilla with intriguing hints of black liquorice. It concludes with a slow and luscious finish featuring lemon, orange and a soft hint of oak.
